Paula Wiens, CPM, CNM, LM
Clinical Director
Paula has a nursing degree and a master's degree in midwifery from the Midwifery Institute at Philadelphia University. In addition to her midwifery training, Paula has a B.A. in Geology from Colorado College. She has been attending births in the Treasure Valley area since 1992. Paula has spent 2011 beginning a transition out of primary midwifery care and into the role of Clinical Director where she will oversee our student program and help transition intern midwives into primary midwives. Paula has a wonderful husband, a dog, and two children, both born with the support of midwives.
Jill Henggeler
Administrative Director
Jill is happily married with a 12 year old daughter, two dogs, a cat and four chickens. She enjoys whitewater rafting, camping, hiking, traveling, gardening, cooking and many other things. Jill is the secretary for the Idaho Midwifery Council's Board of Director's. She is a former student midwife and a qualified birth assistant. Her interest in midwifery was sparked when she read Ina May Gaskin's "Spiritual Midwifery" in preparation for the birth of her daughter in 1999. But Jill's journey began when a good friend asked her to attend her midwife assisted homebirth in 2007 - a life altering experience.
Danielle Wetzstein
Receptionist
Danielle is an Idaho native. She has 2 children, both were born at home with the assistance of Treasure Valley Midwives. She enjoys camping, traveling, concerts, yoga, good times with friends and family, and the great outdoors. Danielle is a strong supporter of natural childbirth and the come back of the midwife.
Erin McCarter, BSN, RN, IBCLC
Lactation Consultant
Erin graduated from University of Washington School of Nursing in 2002 and became a board certified Lacation Consultant in 2007. Prior to joining Treasure Valley Midwives she worked at St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center as a labor, delivery and postpartum nurse and lactation consultant. She has experience with the more common difficulties, as well as special cases such as an infant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, breastfeeding multiples, history of breast surgery, and oral defects. Erin has two children, one born at a birth center and one born at home.
Brittany Hiller, CPM, LM
Brittany has an associate degree in midwifery from the National College of Midwifery and a BS in social work from Boise State University. She became a DONA-certified doula in 2002 and completed the NARM certification process in February 2007. Prior to joining Treasure Valley Midwives, Brittany apprenticed under a midwife in a busy birth center, where she attended hundreds of births. Brittany is happily married with three children.
Kelly McKittrick, CNM
Kelly is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Nurse Practitioner. She attended school at the University of Washington School of Nursing, completing her training in June, 2011. She holds licenses in the State of Idaho as an RN and ANNP. As part of her training, Kelly spent 2 months at Treasure Valley Midwives, and is excited to be officially part of the team. Before Kelly was a midwife, she was a middle and high school teacher for over 13 years, teaching classes focusing on biology, health education, and life skills. She was also a doula for 5 years before starting midwifery school. She enjoys being outdoors, especially hiking and backpacking. As a first-time homeowner in Boise, she enjoys decorating her home, and learning the pros & cons of home ownership. She is an animal lover, and has a yellow lab, Samba, four cats, and plans to get chickens in the spring.
Kathleen Lorenz, CPM, LM
Kathleen is a graduate of the National College of Midwifery and recieved her clinical experience at Treasure Valley Midwives Birth Center. She obtained her CPM and became licensed by the State of Idaho in 2011. Kathleen is also a graduate of Albertson College with a BA in psychology and a minor in sociology/anthropology. She has worked as an assistant Montessori teacher here in Boise. She enjoys reading, gardening, renovating her house and traveling. She is happily married and has two crazy dogs and four funny chickens.

Violet Talbot, Student Midwife.
Violet Talbot is a native of Idaho and has been attending births as a Doula since 2004. She began her midwifery training in Spring of 2010,
completing the Mercy In Action midwifery coursework and began a full-time apprenticeship with Treasure Valley Midwives in January
2011. Violet gave birth to her son Jonah in 2003 with the help of TVM. Jonah passed from this world in 2007 due to a tragic car accident.
Violet dedicates her love for Jonah to her practice of midwifery. She is passionate about assisting women, personally and globally, to
reclaim the transformative process of birth
Kristen Adams, Student Midwife.
Kristin is from Boise, Idaho and received her Medical Assistant certification in 1997. She apprenticed with The Natural Alternative (home birth practice) whilst completing the Mercy In Action midwifery coursework in 2010 and 2011. Kristin has been joyfully married since 1999 and she and her husband have four lovely daughters. Kristin dreams of someday working with the poor in third-world countries providing midwifery care.
