Prenatal Care

We provide prenatal care at the birth center. Routine appointments are once a month until 28 weeks of pregnancy, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then weekly until delivery.

We schedule appointments an hour apart so there is plenty of time for questions and discussion of your concerns.

Every prenatal visit also includes standard clinical assessment of mother and baby including a blood pressure check, monitoring the baby’s growth and position and listening to the baby’s heart beat

You are encouraged to bring family and/or friends to your appointments.

Lab work is done in our office. We will provide you with information about each test so that you can make an informed decision about your care.

We perform limited ultrasounds for women who have a documented need, such as an uncertain due date, viability, and fetal position. Our ultrasounds meet the standards of the FDA, which restricts ultrasound exposure to levels that produce few, if any, effects on the fetus, based on epidemiological evidence.

We maintain a relationship with several physicians if you need more specialized care than we can provide.
